We are looking for a hands-on person to perform the duties of a Community Connector based at our office in Ōtāhuhu. No two days are the same! If you have the passion and desire to help make a difference in the lives of children and their families / whānau then we would like to hear from you!

The Anglican Trust for Women & Children (ATWC) is a multi-disciplinary Social Services organisation based in Ōtāhuhu, with over a hundred and sixty years of service to families in our community. Mō te tūnga | About the role

We are currently looking for a Community Connector to provide support and advocacy to individuals and families experiencing hardships due to COVID or weather events. This role includes assessing support, advocating on behave for those in need, being a strong communicator, establishing and maintain excellent relationship with internal and external stakeholders. This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2025 working 30 hours a week.

Mōu | About you 

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • Certificate or diploma in Health and Wellbeing, Social Services or a related field.
  • Be a team player
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Have good understanding of the challenges faced by families impacted by COVID, recent Auckland weather events and in general hardship
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Be able to manage autonomy responsibly – whilst able to ask questions when required
  • Strong problem solving, advocacy and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and patience
  • Work quickly and methodically
  • Excellent rapport building skills
  • Full driver licence
