St George’s Preschool

St George’s Preschool is a unique learning environment for children aged 0 to 5 years from all backgrounds and ethnicities offering local families quality, affordable childcare with sessions to accommodate working and studying parents.

St George's Preschool

Children at our purpose-built facility in Papatoetoe can explore, discover and grow in a rich, stimulating environment where they interact with caring, supportive adults.

Like all of ATWC’s integrated services, St George’s aims to protect and nurture children and their families and to give them new learning opportunities.

ATWC preschools have an open-door policy. Learning begins at home and links between home and preschool are important. We invite parents and guardians to come and experience our programmes and see how they enrich children’s at-home learning.

Our Philosophy

Welcome to ATWC St. George Preschool, where our foundation rests upon the cherished ATWC values of Whakawhanaungatanga, Aroha and Hope, Compassion and Respect, Integrity and Professionalism, and Stewardship. Drawing inspiration from the Principles of the Te Whaariki curriculum, we wholeheartedly embrace a unique educational journey.

Nurtured by the spirit of Whakawhanaungatanga, we believe in building strong connections within our community, fostering an environment of inclusivity, empathy, and understanding. Aroha and Hope guide us in creating a haven of safety, love, and care, where each child's uniqueness is celebrated.

Our purpose is to stand as sources of inspiration and encouragement, lighting the way for our young learners to explore, question, and discover. Rooted in the principles of Competence and Capability, we dedicate ourselves to nurturing the growth of resilient, skilled, and confident minds.

Central to our philosophy is the cultivation of strong relationships with Whanau, recognizing the vital partnership between home and school. Through open communication and collaboration, we ensure that each child's journey is holistic and harmonious.

Authenticity is the cornerstone of our approach, as we provide opportunities for hands-on, purposeful engagement through meaningful tasks. This approach aligns seamlessly with our commitment to Integrity and Professionalism, upholding the highest standards in all aspects of our preschool's operation.
