Historic Abuse Complaints
ATWC is committed to reconciliation and healing, and encourages historic abuse survivors to come forward, they will be believed, respected and supported.
All historical complaints matter - we’ve invested significant resources in our complaints process, which is focused on listening and healing, and led by survivors. We’re determined to learn from the past and keep improving this process.
Abuse in Care | Royal Commission of Inquiry
Anglican Trust for Women and Children accepts the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry’s findings and acknowledges the impact abuse has on survivors.
We recognise the significance of the report and enormous amount of work that the Commission has done, and thank all survivors who came forward. These experiences are traumatic and life-changing, and Aotearoa New Zealand will be better for this important mahi being done
We will work alongside the Anglican Church through their Te Korowai working group on the response to the recommendations, as we continue to inform and improve our survivor-led recovery and healing process in light of the Royal Commissions findings.
