Empower Whānau | Support Tamariki | Champion Early Learning
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Whānau Coordinator to join our Engaging Priority Families Programme in Ōtāhuhu. This is a fixed-term role (37.5 hours per week) until June 2026.
About Us
ATWC (Anglican Trust for Women & Children) is a well-established Charitable Trust with over 160 years of service to families in our community. Guided by the values of Hope & Aroha, Compassion & Respect, Whanaungatanga, Stewardship, Integrity & Professionalism, we deliver multi-disciplinary services that empower tamariki and whānau across Auckland.
About the Role
The Engaging Priority Families Programme supports whānau to enrol and engage with Early Childhood Education (ECE). The focus is on ensuring tamariki attend regularly, enjoy their learning experiences, and are prepared to transition successfully into school.
This is a community engagement role where you’ll work alongside diverse whānau, often facing barriers to accessing ECE. You’ll also build strong connections with community stakeholders to help create lasting, positive change.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
- Have experience working with Māori, Pasifika, and migrant families
- Communicate confidently across socially diverse settings
- Be computer literate with strong reporting and note-taking skills
- Work both independently and as part of a team
- Build and maintain effective community relationships
- Be well-organised, motivated, and solutions-focused
- Hold a full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
- Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
Desired Attributes
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development or the ECE sector (training provided)
- Bilingual skills (any language)
- Strong empathy and cultural awareness
What ATWC Offers
- Additional paid holidays (up to 15 days per year)
- Free on-site parking
- Accredited Living Wage Employer
- Pool car available during work hours
- On-the-job training and mentoring
- Internal supervision
- A friendly, supportive, and diverse work environment
