Social Worker – Social Worker in Schools (SWIS)

Nurture Tamariki | Support Whānau | Strengthen Wellbeing

We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated Social Worker to join our supportive and dynamic SWIS team. This is a fixed-term position covering parental leave, ending in May 2026.

About the Role

As part of the SWIS team, you will work with students and their whānau to find solutions to challenges that may affect a student’s education, engagement, or wellbeing.

This fixed-term role is eligible for Social Work Pay Equity at a pro-rata rate based on a 37.5-hour working week. You will join a team of qualified, registered social workers who collaborate closely with schools and whānau to create positive, practical, and culturally responsive outcomes for tamariki.


What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification

  • Registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) and a current Annual Practising Certificate

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong computer literacy

  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence

  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
