Whanau Coordinator – Engaging Priorities Families Initiative

We are offering a fantastic full time opportunity.

Based in Otahuhu, the Engaging Priority Families Initiative concentrates on connecting families to identify and value early education for their tamariki across Auckland.  The goal is for all tamariki to engage in quality education prior to starting school and breaking down barriers between whanau and education providers.  The purpose is to support tamariki to have an enjoyable experience within an educational setting where they can learn and develop in preparing them to transition to school.

We need a great communicator who has a heart for the South Auckland community with an enthusiasm to promote early learning opportunities and quality education.  If you are a highly motivated with a can-do attitude then this position is for you.  The preferred candidate will have problem-solving skills and have the desire  to join an established team, have the ability to engage families and their 3 & 4 year old children to link them into early childhood education and then to transition them successfully to primary school.  A key component of this role is to build working relationships and partnerships with a variety of ECE providers and schools.

Required attributes:

  • Eligible to work in NZ
  • Understanding of Early Childhood Education
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Maori, Pasifika and migrant families
  • Computer literate
  • Clean full driver’s license
  • Sense of humor
