Working in partnership with Auckland Council and the Panama community, this role focuses on supporting tamariki aged 6 to 11 through meaningful programmes that enhance wellbeing, strengthen resilience, and foster a sense of belonging.
As Riverside Youth Coordinator, you will design and deliver engaging activities that connect children to their community, while also creating opportunities to involve whānau and local stakeholders. This role is centred on building strong, trusting relationships and creating safe, inclusive spaces where tamariki feel valued, heard, and empowered.
You will play a key role in supporting positive development outcomes for children, while contributing to a connected and resilient community.

About the Role
As a Riverside Youth Coordinator, you will:

Design, develop, and deliver engaging programmes for tamariki aged 6 to 11

Facilitate activities that support wellbeing, resilience, and social connection

Build strong, trusting relationships with children and encourage participation
-
Promote inclusive and positive behaviour within a safe community environment

Engage with whānau and community stakeholders to strengthen connections
-
Plan and organise both indoor and outdoor activities tailored to community needs
-
Support children to feel empowered, confident, and connected
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications

Full New Zealand Driver Licence
-
Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
Skills and Experience
-
Experience working with children, ideally within community settings
-
Strong understanding of youth culture and the challenges young people face

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Strong planning and organisational skills
-
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
-
Strong problem-solving capability
-
Knowledge of the Panama community is an advantage
