We are seeking a passionate and resilient Kaimanaaki – Attendance Services to join the Anglican Trust for Women and Children (ATWC). In this role, you will work alongside tamariki, taiohi, whānau, and schools to support children and young people who are chronically absent or not enrolled to re-engage meaningfully in education.

About the Role
The goal of this role is to support chronically absent and non-enrolled tamariki and taiohi to re-engage in education through personalised, whānau-centred approaches.
As a Kaimanaaki – Attendance Services, you will:

Support tamariki and taiohi who are not attending or not enrolled in school to return to education

Work closely with students, whānau, schools, and relevant agencies to develop and monitor “back to school” plans

Conduct home visits to understand individual circumstances and build high-trust relationships

Identify and address barriers to regular attendance using strengths-based, practical interventions

Support students from primary through to secondary school age

Coordinate holistic supports that promote wellbeing, engagement, and positive educational outcomes

Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards
What We’re Looking For Qualifications

Level 4 or higher NZQA-recognised qualification in social services, education, youth work, community development, or a related field (preferred but not essential)

Current full NZ Driver’s Licence with no limitations

Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience engaging effectively with tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānau in community or education settings

Understanding of the New Zealand education system and factors influencing attendance and engagement
-
Ability to assess barriers to school attendance and implement practical, strengths-based interventions
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
