Engagement and Communications Manager

Mō te tūnga | About the role

We currently have a vacancy for an Engagement and Communications Manager to lead our communication and engagement strategy in an organisation that is dedicated to making a difference for whanau and communities.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Engagement & Communications Manager will be responsible for raising ATWC’s profile, identifying key partnerships and fundraising opportunities, leading campaigns and events and leading a small team. The position is primarily based in Otahuhu office but there is some flexibility about location at other sites. The role is varied and interesting and will:

  • Lead the development of an innovative engagement and communication plan to support ATWC to achieve its strategy and be a leader in social innovation
  • Develop strong and vibrant relationships with affiliated groups, and networks that makes a difference in lives of the families we work with.
  • Develop creative internal messaging that supports ATWC staff to share our impact.
  • Develop exciting and creative fundraising opportunities, including ATWC’s fundraising appeals and targeted donations strategy.
  • Build the capacity and capabilities of the engagement and communication team.

Mōu | About you 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • To be able to demonstrate exceptional communication and stakeholder relationships with a diverse range of groups and networks
  • The ability to develop engaging and compelling material and communicate via a range of mediums
  • Relevant or transferable qualification and experience.
  • Strong competence in a variety of computer programmes with knowledge of digital communications tools and strategies with some exposure to social media and Google Analytics preferred
  • To analyse data/feedback and adapt responses approaches in response to trends and feedback
  • Strong planning and organising skills, and the ability to multi-task and to lead your direct team and the wider organisation to meet deadlines.
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of integrity
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with diverse cultures and a commitment to Ti Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
  •  Have a full New Zealand Drivers Licence
